Canadian Base Operators Inc. (CBO) a subcontractor of Kelowna Aerospace Defence Programs, provides Support Services to our client, the Department of National Defence. We require an Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighter (ARFF) at our Southport, Manitoba location.

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Fire Chief, you will assist in providing Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting duties at Southport. The successful candidate will be required to work day, evening, and/or weekend shifts to support flying operations.

Essential job functions
· Provide Crash Fire rescue services at Southport
· Respond to hazardous materials, leaks and spills
· Conduct Fire Extinguisher Training for DND members
· Participate in annual and semi-annual Performance Appraisals
· Educate DND and KF Aero employees in the local evacuation procedures
· Maintain rescue equipment
· Conduct monthly maintenance as directed by the Fire Chief
· Other duties as required

Minimum Qualifications & Training
· Grade 12 or equivalent
· Must hold IFSAC/NFPA or equivalent accredited qualifications
· NFPA 1003 Airport Firefighter preferred
· NFPA 1001 Firefighter Level II
· NFPA 1002 Fire Apparatus Driver/Operator
· Valid First Aid Certificate
· Valid Class 5 Manitoba Drivers Licence
· Must already hold a Reliability Status Clearance or be eligible to obtain one

Annual Certifications
· Live Fire & Medical Certifications
· Physical Fitness Maintenance Program
· Maintain Airside Vehicle Operations Permit
