NATO Flying Training in Canada (NFTC) 15 Wing Moose Jaw

NATO Flying Training in Canada (NFTC) 15 Wing Moose Jaw

Project Description

15 Wing Moose Jaw is located four nautical miles south of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Canada. The site is home to 431 Air Demonstration Squadron “Canadian Forces Snowbirds”, the Contracted Flight Training and Support (CFTS) program and the NATO Flying Training in Canada (NFTC) program. The NFTC program directly contributes to NATO countries’ defence and security readiness.

15 Wing Moose Jaw has long been established as the central site for Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) aircrew training, its origin dating back to when pilots were preparing for service during the second world war. Since then, RCAF and NATO ally pilots have continued to fly jet training aircraft at this site where the use of state-of-the-art simulation technology is essential to flying training school success. Since October 2015, CAE has been the prime contractor responsible for the NFTC program. CAE operates the NFTC base facilities, delivers the ground-school classroom and simulator training and supports the live flying training activities. 15 Wing Moose Jaw is one of Canada’s Future Aircrew Training (FAcT) program sites, where operations are to commence once the prime contract is underway. CBO is a strategic partner of SkyAlyne, one of two competitors for the FAcT program prime contract which is to be awarded in 2023.
