During the period of August 18-27, Exercise STALWART GUARDIAN was held at the 4th Canadian Division Training Centre (4CDTC) in Meaford, Ontario. This significant annual Army field exercise increases military traffic on major highways in Central Ontario as personnel and vehicles from across the 4th Canadian Division make their way to Meaford. Approximately 300 Canadian Army Reserve members were involved in Exercise STALWART GUARDIAN this year: specifically Reserve Infantry from 32 Canadian Brigade Group and 33 Canadian Brigade Group who participated in simulated combat operations, coordinated by and involving troops.
As 4CDTC Meaford’s Site Support Services Prime Contractor, CBO provided extensive support across the site to safeguard the flawless success of the Exercise. The Exercise itself had an impact on all sections of CBO. Planning and support for it started months ago with advanced plans coordinated with Department of National Defence (DND) staff on vehicle and staff movements, ammunition, accommodations, food services, equipment and supply needs. Once STALWART GUARDIAN started, all CBO departments were ready. CBO staff have had a lot of experience in handling an increased tempo at the Training Centre and always look forward to supporting this and any other exercise DND chooses to hold at Meaford. A large part of CBO’s mission at Meaford is to anticipate the needs of the soldiers coming to 4CDTC for training and ensuring that during their stay there they can focus on training and leave the rest to us.
Through the commitment, competence, and diligence of our staff, we will respond to our customer needs while using the team approach to deliver required services and in solving any problems that might come up. Becoming an integral part of DND’s team during exercises allows DND’s mission to be a success each summer training period and CBO staff are always happy to support this.
