Project Description
Fort MacKay/Firebag Airport is located 22 nautical miles (41 km; 25 mi) from the Firebag River, Alberta, Canada. The Airport was built to service the Firebag in-situ operation of Suncor Energy. Services are required 24/7, year-round, with a total portfolio area of 1,100 acres/4.45 km2.
Role of CBO
Acden Base Operators Limited Partnership (Alberta) (ABO) is the Prime Contractor for all Airside and Groundside Services at the Suncor Firebag Airport located near Fort MacKay, Alberta. Our staff oversees the provision of all hard and soft support services and liaises directly with the client regarding all operational matters. ABO is an Equity & Venture Partnership formed between Canadian Base Operators (CBO) and Acden; Acden is wholly owned by the Athabasca Chipewyan First Nation (ACFN). Acden is one of the largest Aboriginal corporations in Canada and is a proud member of the Northeastern Alberta Aboriginal Business Association and Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business. ABO is an Indigenous Business that brings together CBO’s expertise in facilities maintenance and operations support and Acden’s extensive experience in the oil sands services industry.
