From “day one” in 2020, CBO Southport has been honoured to be a corporate sponsor who keeps Eagle’s Wings Flight School (EWFS) in the air. EWFS is a registered Canadian charity and 100% volunteer run. It is an “organization that is committed to helping at-risk youth find their passion and chart a pathway to success in early adulthood and beyond”.
Based out of Southport Aerospace Centre Inc. (SACI), the EWFS is made possible by a generous group of “likeminded organizations and individuals who share a desire to inspire youth to explore their innate gifts, build self-confidence, and develop practical life-skills through aviation training”. Financial contributions go toward fuel, classroom and facility space, hangarage, meals, and expenses. Initially CBO provided all sorts of ‘in kind’ sponsorship during COVID-19, as well as coordinated the provision of box lunches with our subcontractor Canada Catering. CBO is one of three sponsors at SACI who have each contributed $7,500 to help EWFS with the acquisition and build of a BushCat aircraft. We look forward to seeing it take air in 2024!
