Royal Canadian Air Force Centennial 1924 – 2024

April 1, 2024 marks 100 years of service of the Royal Canadian Air Force as a ‘distinct military element’. In celebration of this centennial anniversary and commemoration of the men and women who have served, and continue to serve Canada at home and abroad, many events are planned across the country and around the world.

Flag raising ceremonies are being held and famous landmarks, city halls, businesses, embassies, and residences across are being illuminated in blue. Currently over 300 landmarks in 20 countries are confirmed to be participating in the illumination campaign. All Canadians are being encouraged to join in the ‘100 Your Air Force’ campaign in support of the RCAF and its personnel, and light up their cities, businesses, and homes in blue, and share photos on social media using the hashtags #RCAF100 and #100YearsOfFlyingBlue.

To learn more about RCAF celebrations of this milestone, we are invited to join in the festivities and attend events, see: https://rcaf2024arc.ca/

Canadian Base Operators provides facilities management and operations – airside, groundside, and site support services such as Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting to support RCAF programs such as NATO Flying Training in Canada (NFTC) out of 15 Wing Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan and Contracted Flying Training and Support (CFTS) out of Southport, Manitoba.

Having performed services for Department of National Defence facilities over the past 29 years, including work in support of the North Warning System NORAD Mission, we are extremely proud to serve those who serve. In anticipation of the Centennial commemoration day, on March 28 CBO carpenters proudly hung the RCAF Centennial sign on Hanger 4 at 15 Wing Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan.

CBO would like to thank the RCAF, DND, the Government of Canada, and our valued clients for the opportunity to contribute to our nation’s Defence programs and operations.
