ABO Donates to Fort Chipewyan Community High School Alternate Education Program

ABO donated $1,000 in support of the new Alternate Education program at the Fort Chipewyan Community High School (FCCHS) in Fort Chipewyan, Alberta. ABO is a partnership between Canadian Base Operators and Acden Holdings (Acden), a company owned by the Athabasca Chipewyan First Nation (ACFN). The ACFN, Mikisew Cree First Nation and Métis Local 125 started the Alternate Education program in early 2020. Centred at the Fort Chipewyan Keyano College campus, the program offers students Grade 10 to 12 module-based learning. Students can complete modules at home and at their own pace, allowing access to education, and minimizing barriers to education and the effects of isolation. ABO assisted Acden with the delivery of computer equipment consisting of 10 computers, monitors and printers that Acden donated to FCCHS. ABO is very proud to be part of such an important initiative.

ABO Donates to Santas Anonymous to Help Make Christmas Bright for Local Children

A heartfelt thanks to Acden Base Operators Ltd. (ABO) for spreading Christmas cheer in 2020 with their donation of $1,000 to the Father Mercredi School Santas Anonymous campaign in Fort McMurray, Alberta. The Santas Anonymous program provides financial support to families with children to help celebrate Christmas.

ABO is an expert in the provision of turnkey, customized airport and aerodrome services for facilities of all sizes in the Wood Buffalo Region and enjoys being active in the communities in which we operate. ABO currently provides support services for the Suncor Firebag Airport.

CBO Joins the SkyAlyne Team of Pan-Canadian Experts for the FAcT Program

SkyAlyne, a partnership between Canadian aviation and defence companies CAE and KF Aerospace, has officially unveiled its full team of strategic subcontractors. SkyAlyne is a qualified bidder for the Royal Canadian Air Force’s (RCAF) Future Aircrew Training and Support (FAcT) program. Future Aircrew Training (FAcT) is a new program that will deliver ab initio training for military aircrew under an integrated solution consisting of the Department of National Defence (DND) and contractor-supplied training. The program aims to develop a relevant, flexible, responsive and effective aircrew training program for Pilots, Air Combat Systems Officers (ACSOs) and Airborne Electronic Sensor Operators (AES Ops) to meet future requirements of the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF).

ATCO and CBO Partnership Seeking to Bring Specialized Support Services to Canadian Forces Base

July 8, 2020 – ATCO Frontec (ATCO) and Canadian Base Operators (CBO) have partnered to form Canadian Frontier Services Ltd., a new company designed to bring specialized facilities management, operational support services and airport operations together under one banner. This new partnership is pursuing the site support services contract at 5 Wing Goose Bay to manage and maintain the Canadian Forces Base for the next ten years.

Acden Base Operators Ltd. Awarded 5 Year Contract for Aerodrome Services by Suncor Energy at the Firebag Aerodrome

Acden Base Operators Ltd. (ABO) is majority-owned by the Athabasca Chipewyan First Nation and will work with its partner Canadian Base Operators Inc. (CBO) to fulfill the requirements of this new contract. Acden is one of Canada’s largest Aboriginal corporations providing a wide range of services and products to oil sands clients. The new partnership between Acden and CBO, coupled with the contract award, creates a new Aboriginal leader in aerodrome services that will benefit both Suncor Energy and the Athabasca Chipewyan First Nation.

Canadian Base Operators Inc. awarded 10 Year, $157M Site Support Services Contract at the 4th Canadian Division Training Centre Meaford, Ontario

The 4th Canadian Division Training Centre (4 CDTC) Meaford was the first military installation in Canada to be wholly contracted to a civilian service provider for all facilities maintenance, operations and logistics support services. 4 CDTC Meaford is a training facility for Canadian Forces Regular and Reserve soldiers in Ontario, non-military agencies as well as, military units from a variety international countries.

Canadian Base Operators Achieves Annual Safety Milestone

Exemplifying Canadian Base Operators’ commitment to health and safety, the Black & McDonald affiliate recently achieved one million hours without incident from May 2018 to December 2019, the latest Lost Time Injury period.

CBO Partners with Canadian Tire’s Jump Start Initiative

On 11-13 June, 2019, Canadian Base Operators was proud to partner with Canadian Tire’s Jump Start initiative, Braden-Burry Expediting (BBE), and Raytheon Canada limited (RCL), to sponsor a bike rodeo in Inuvik, Northwest Territories. The event sponsors worked together to supply 350 bicycle helmets to local children and their parents, ensuring all members of the community could participate safely.
